rotary engines are not unreliable.....you think if Mazda knew that they would still be using them today?
what's unreliable is the builders of those engines that break.
ever seen a stock rotary out of the factory break? No!

is when these idiots that build them and not using the proper pins/dowels etc thats what makes them unreliable.

ummm rotary production ended earlier this year, enough time, money and R&D was spent on trying to make it more economical, and more efficient, it was rated the most HORRIBLE motor ever produced in terms of economical efficiency....

however, THIS 13B in ricardo's FD was running for the last FOUR years.

rotaries aren't unreliable, engine tuners and engine builders who lack the knowledge to make something work properly MAKE THOSE ENGINES unreliable.....

LOL @ Rotaries being "unreliable"

For those that don't know, the US military has been using large displacement rotary engines to power some of their generators in the field. They are also playing around with Rotary powered UAV's (drones)
I've personally seen the engines that are use to power the generators- Each rotor is approximately 16" tall and it has double side seals, with an air cooled rotor housing.

Also, I guess those skeptics don't follow the Rolex sports car series.. The Speed Source Rx8's used to walk all over those Porsches at the 12 & 24hr races
