Re: NEW VEHICLE PRICES IN TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

Postby *$kїđž!™ » November 29th, 2012, 8:40 pm

well today I was at lifestyle and I did check out the chevy colorado....

beautiful 2.8 diesel automatic,,,,,

the 4x4 is amazing really pretty inside and out.....BUT at a price of $305 000.....

the 4x2 price is a little better $250 000 BUT the inside is a lot less fabulous than the 4x4 BUT what totally sealed the deal for me with NOT considering the 4x2 model is that it does NOT have any airbags whatsoever!!!

In this day and age I am not going to pay $250 000 for a vehicle without airbags.....

sales guy said they were shocked to see that these vans came without airbags......so they put a stop on the importation of them untill their supplier from thailand rectifies this.....

but ..automatic diesel with tiptronic 6 fwd transmission......nice.....

Yeah I checked out the Colorado too and they told me the 4x4 is 304k. For me it looks just as good as the Ranger and better than a Hilux. Nice interior, well built, and 2.8 turbo diesel with 6 speed tiptronic is awesome. All sold out already but is will definitely shake up the trini psuedo 4x4 culture.

It is not uncommon to see a pickup without airbags. Basic 2wd versions were non airbag and abs equipped.
Anyway the kia cerato sedan is now 170k and the koup is 195k. The sedan is fully equipped with proximity intelligent key with button start and 4 wheel disk brakes etc. The soul is 169k and the rio is 155k. Lastly the optima is 298k

4x4 3.0 auto tiptronic 5-speed 286K

I saw them setting up an Isuzu display outside the dealership in south; if I get some time I'll pass in and verify the price/ model variations :)

Which Cruze are you looking at? The 1.8L or the 1.6L. The new Focus comes with a 1.6L engine.
What's the price for both (not sure how current the prices are in this thread)?
What's the warranty period on each car?
How long do you intend on keeping it?

The only info i have on pricing is the info in this thread, will be visiting showrooms next week, just wanted to get an general opinion before i go, this is my first new car purchase, so i think u guys will be able to think up pros and cons of each car that i hadn't. The focus is premium? I thought it was super :| thats a huge deal breaker

I plan on keeping it abt 5-6 years and probably looking to sell after that period. Is it true that the 2012 focus only just launched down here ? :| i was excited abt all the features made standard in the 2013 focus titanium. Also i've heard that the braking power in the cruze is subpar.

Please note in 2013, the Cruze is only receiving a facelift to the 1.8LS and 1.8LT models; front facia and new styled alloy wheels, which would resemble the current 1.6LS which is the 2013 model.

the cruze 1.8 is $215k and the loaded focus 1.6 is $245 with 5 years free service and insurance only through ansa merchant/tatil.

Both are exceptional vehicles but I like the cruze more.

Sx4 is a very good buy. Have a hatch and moms have a sedan. Extremely good on gas (uses super and i get 12-14.6 km/L), plenty space, peppy, comfortable ride.

damieG82, the pic you posted there is the JDM model I'm not sure if we will be getting that here.

Having recently driven in two new chevy cruzes both with under 10kkm, I can honestly say it is by far the worst suspension I've ever felt in that group. Actually easily amongst the worst i've felt in any new car in the last 5yrs.
Maybe the two I went in were already damaged at 10kkm, but they both felt wrong in exactly the same way.
Really didn't expect that since I used to think at the price they would have been a reasonable deal in trini.
