Sneaky and Evo IX places 4th with the FP Black turbo...

Postby Sneaky Pete » March 26th, 2010, 12:59 pm

I know it's only a dyno thing, but it was a fun day.

Here, read more: http://www.socalevo.net/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=37&topic=91979.msg7884660;topicseen#msg7884660

Some random pics:

A very loud evo...crazy loud.

As stock as she looks, this bad boy put down 599 on the Mustang Dyno. A correct factor for a well maintained DynoJet dynos would result 706 at the wheels

What impressed me the most about this car is, it's quiet. Much more quiet than those freaking Buschur exhaust cars, which IMO are annoying.

More evo's

500 HP evo. I have no idea how this kid gets away with driving this car here in CA. Loud, loud, loud

It's one crazy ride. It has a forward facing turbo and I believe it put down 630 at 36 psi. Last year it won the Red Line time attack.

It's loud, deafening.

Here are some more pics of that beast...

Sorry, not from me. I was being silly and stood close to the car when it started and got that instant pain in my head. After that I stood far away, outside of the shop when he opened her up.

I'm not sure why guys like the Buschur exhaust, besides performance. I guess that's the only reason.

I'll check around and see if anyone has vids on the dyno as well as the track.

Double pumper going in next week...must get more fuel pressure

corolla_2nr, that vid was from last year at another shop. I believe before the Time Attack. Also, the setup on the car back then was much lower and that engine blew.

This new setup is making more power and the FF turbo apparently is much more efficient.

Yes, the stock setup is nice, mine is way too stock, I know, but will keep her that way. I get too many looks from the cops, because my car is a tad loud as well. Granny shifting all the time on the street is a norm here in So Cal., not that I could pull any higher; she get into the 100's pretty quick.

I'll check with James for videos when I see him next week.

nice cars! ...I don't agree with having a car with such a big Turbo as to cause te power to shoot thru the roof over a VERY narrow power band tho. numbers mean nothing cuz peaky power ain't pretty!

Not to pick a fight, but the FP Black is one really good setup. I guess it depends of the owner/driver. I hate being in boost all the time, and this Black does the job.

Drove in a car with the BBK full turbo and it was annoying. Switched cars and the owner made the decision to switch. He should be getting his car back Tuesday. Besides hitting boost so early, this Black is getting better gas mileage than my X.

Anyhow, it's a good setup and pretty satisfied with it. Now every body and their mother is getting this setup

Yep, stock block and the reason why I'm limiting the car to 27 psi and my planned 450 hp with the DP on the Mustang. When this baby blows, I may opt for a rebuilt 2.0 or 2.3 from Buschur. I'm really enjoying the shift in the power band with this bigger turbo.

no worries pete... i'm not hating on the black, i just never like power to come in like a bang, lol! but with AWD i guess there's no real issue with traction.

you made me laugh about the bang because I had to relearn how to drive with the car, especially when I'm trying to pass traffic...I have to baby the throttle otherwise, bang, run pass and scare everyone all in one acceleration

The BBK was one of my first options, but getting the Black as a gift sealed the deal.

The car is at Reese getting the pump and a re-tune. DONE, NO MORE SPENDING $.
