High Rally and track demand predicted for Civic Type R

- Record entries for Accord in touring car racing in Europe

Honda Racing Customer Support is set for a busy 2008 season, with demand for JAS Motorsport's services, cars and parts predicted to be higher than ever. The support programme was established by Honda, in partnership with JAS Motorsport, in 2002 with a mission to share Honda's joy and passion for racing with its customers.

Under the programme, JAS Motorsport offers customers a full range of services ranging from a "technical assistance hotline" to full rally and track support along with racing parts and "ready to race" cars.

To date, no less than 300 customers in Europe have enjoyed racing with a Civic Type R since the Customer Support programme was launched.

Commenting on the 2008 season, Alessandro Mariani, Managing Director of JAS Motorsport, said: "With the introduction of the new Civic Type R and its development in the new FIA Group R regulations, and the growing customer interest in the Accord Super 2000, we have increased our team of engineers and mechanics to better service our customers on all fronts and every continent this year.""

Since the launch of the first Honda Civic Type R in 2001, the Milano-based racing & engineering company, in collaboration with Honda, has developed and build Civic models in Gr. N, Gr. A, Superproduction and Super 2000.

In 2006, with the introduction of the new Civic Type R in Europe, JAS has developed a full FIA Gr. R R3 Rally spec and a specific Circuit version for the flagship of the Civic range.

Furthermore, these last two versions have also benefited from the arrival of a new partner in the program: Mugen.

"We are delighted to see such a close partnership working in such harmony between Mugen and JAS", says William De Braekeleer, Motorsport Manager at Honda Motor Europe, Combining Mugen's high expertise in engine development with JAS's vast chassis development experience is the best guarantee to offer our customers the competitiveness and the quality they are looking for!".

Beside the Civic Type R projects, JAS has also developed the Accord in Super 2000 specifications. This year, an unprecedented squad of 8 Honda Accord will fight for victories in the touring car championships of Denmark, Italy and Sweden as well as in the World Touring Car Championship
