Another unique model with a rotary engine was launched in July 1974. The world's first low-emission bus with a rotary powerplant, the Parkway Rotary 26, made its sensational debut with the powerful Type 13B engine. The bus, with a power rating of 135ps, could easily cruise along at 120km/h.
The '26' moniker identified the maximum seating capacity. The DX version accommodated 26 persons whereas the luxurious Super DX offered seating for thirteen. For the former, a sub-engine type air cooler was available as an option. The most entertaining aspect of the bus was its low-vibration and quiet cabin comfort derived from the smooth operation of the rotary engine.[/b]
