AD VFY11 SR20DET Manual FWD Conversion

As the title says, I'm wondering if anyone has done an engine swap on the Y11 Wagon that comes with a QG15DE stock (automatic)

How easy is it to do a conversion? I know I'll have to do some cutting and drilling to install the clutch pedal etc. But otherwise, is there a SR20DET and manual FWD transmission combo (axle and everything) that would bolt into the Y11? Modifying mounts is not an issue for me either. I'm hoping that I wouldn't have to customize the axle. I read somewhere that the Avenir SR20DET + trans + axle can bolt into the AD without mods, has anyone done it before?

My QG started burning a lil oil so I'm anticipating dropping an Sr in it one time

OK.
The Y11 chassis was shared by both the AD van and Wingroad. Isn't that so ?
Then the engine compartment should be the same for both the AD & Wingroad.
The Wingroad series carried the JS, and JS Touring. Correct ?
OK.
There was also a model that carried the SR18 engine, albeit an Automatic transmission.
Is the SR18 about the same size as the SR20 ? I can't say.
I know a guy with an SR18 Auto model.
If you want to see how it is installed give me a call 724 3422 and I will try to make arrangements.
Ramish.

Thanks for the response man. Yeah, older wingroads and AD Y11 share the same chassis. I have seen a wingroad that has SR20VVL in it from the factory, although its mated to a CVT transmission. I don't know if SR20VVL and SR20DET (or sr18 and SR20DET) have any differences in shape, size, mounting. I wanna find out so that I don't waste my money buying a SR20DET that just costs too much for me to swap in. I'll give you a call sometime

The Y11 Wingroad had a ZV and a ZV-S model. While I am not sure if the ZV had the SR20 or a SR18, I am certain the ZV-S model had it. It came with the SR20VVL, and the HyperCVTM6 transmission. (I want to suspect that it was the same setup the P11 Primera had )It also had rear disc brakes and independent suspension.
I live in Marabella, and an Indian Rasta guy still drives one through Marabella.
There is a Nissan wagon, the Avenir W11 that also had a SR20 and SR20 Turbo. There are a few around still. Check Wikipedia, and you will get all the iterations of it..........And a Bluebird SSS AWD.
But going back to your installation, I cannot say if the SR20 Turbo will fit without too much modification.
You have to infiltrate SR20 Turbo circles !
Too, please remember gasoline prices keep going up.
Regards,
Ramish.

The zvs wingroad comes from the factory with a sr20 blacktop neo vvl, this conversion is bolt for bolt once its a complete conversion you are buying, of course you'll have to change spindle, brakes, rotas. I haven't done it but I was talking to my mechanic about it and my thing is the blacktop vvl is a sweet engine yes but it's N/A so to spend that much money if you're willing too it's better to go sr20DET and done, just my two cents.

I have a y11 big light wingroad and some years ago I destroyed the engine. At the time I got a complete sr20 Det off of a w11 avenir and the front suspension, crossmember with mounts, axels etc from a zvs wingroad. Everything bolted up bolt for bolt except the front mount which was hindered by the turbo.
I opted to do some fabricating to clear the turbo and it's working. Have since upgraded the front brakes and installed rear disc brakes, wired a decent management and tuned on pump gas. Only downfall is I went with a cable type transmission from a p11 which was re built and its been my daily driver for years.

Bit of advice... Be prepared to spend some money... A lot... Behind this conversation if you want it done properly. The only driving force behind me doing this was initially getting the engine relatively cheep. I guess once you started you just have to complete as you're already in it.
