Bubbling Radiator noise

I recently notice every time I drive my car, y11 QG15 that a bubbling noise comes from the radiator, I am very concerned, can anyone tell me what is going on there?????

Any temp guage fluctuations? See if both fans work as they should. Turn on the ac and see if they cycle.

you may have air in the system somewhere.... and that will cause irregular cooling the temp guage will not read accurately....

nissans are famous for having trapped air bubbles in the system

you can try to vent the air yourself or take it to a rad shop and let dem bleed it for you.


to confirm if theres air in the system theres a simple test you can do.

ensure the engine is cold.
start car and let it come up to normal temp on its own.
once its up to normal temp press the accelerator pedal and hold the engine at a rev to about 1800rpm or 2300rpm or so.

if the engine sounds like it revving up and down quickly - your tach will also show the rev dips and rises.......
despite your foot not moving position from the pedal...

you may have air trapped in the system.

Does the sound occur when you start the engine cold or after the system has warmed up?
Has the thermostat ever been changed?

Only when warmed up, don't know if the thermostat was changed

So a couple of things to think about, if the thermostat is closed it will keep water in the head from flowing out which will cause the water to boil in the head or if your water pump isn't working you will have a similar issue. This might not show on the temp gauge until it is to late as water is a poor conductor of heat and depending on the position of the temp sensor. If the water is indeed boiling, it tends to push coolant out of the overflow bottle

Possible causes:
Air trapped in the coolant system
Coolant mix has too much water
Faulty thermostat
Faulty fan belt, fan clutch or electric fan motor/wiring
