Tiida - Smart key dashboard light blinking

Hi guys;

A friend of mine bought a foreign used tiida with the intelligent key. Recently, she noticed the key light on the dashboard constantly blinking (red) when the car is off. She says the light only used to blink when the car was on and the key was far away, now even if the key is in the car and the car is off the light still blinks. The iginition knob is in the LOCK position.

Replaced the battery in the key, but the light still constantly blinks when the car is off.

I'm not a tiida man, is this something to be concerned about? Or is this normal functionality.
