Y12 Rider occasional acceleration restriction

Postby Premchand1976 » December 19th, 2016, 7:25 pm

Happened a couple times the past 3 weeks and eventually check light came on. Changed air filter, coil pack ( #1 ) and air flow sensor. Worked fine for a while then the restriction started happening again.

Whilst I'm driving and if I release the X, when I press again, you feeling the rpm/ acceleration restriction but when I " accelerate the rpm, the car jolts forward and drives and accelerates until.i slow down/ take my foot off the pedal ?

Before I changed the parts, the restriction got really bad, it would refuse to accelerate and in traffic, would " buck " until I put in neutral or rev up a bit, even cut off on me once when the " hunting " was taking place.

Mechanic suggests it could be filter/ pump in fuel tank that needs changing?

Any other ideas / assistance?

Thanks

My fuel did run pretty low one day about a month aback and strange enough the issue started about the time I filled up after that. I could be wrong tho.

Change the pump in the tank first then a process of elimination coming forward?

Start with fuel filter, injector clean (ultrasonic or machine)... then pump. This is the Process of elimination wrt fuel system.

Did you do a diagnostic ?
I had similar symptoms when a dog went under the car and chewed all the O2 sensor wires together.
Peace.

Guys, I changed air flow sensor and one coilpack, problem came back.......changed the other 3 and cleared codes today.....voila.....problem solved. Noticed one plug was burning a Lil black and the other 3 was white. Decide to change coilpacks only as parts dealer said plug looks fine despite being a Lil burnt at the top. Cleared codes today and it's working great. Let's hope no trouble in the near future........
