Need Advice On An Alternator Upgrade - SR18DE

Postby krazykidzkrew » July 26th, 2015, 2:06 am

Good day tuners,

I presently have a p11 primera (wagon), with a SR18DE, with a 80AMP alternator.
Was considering an upgrade to a higher amperage one.

I was told the QR20 Alternator is 120AMPS & a direct bolt up application.
Need to know if that is true.
Also some other high amperage alternator references in comparison preferably direct bolt up installation would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

i cant say for the SR18DE.. but for the QG alternator a tiida 120A alternator bolts up. should hold true for the 160A version.

check the tiida alternator and see if it can bolt up on your engine.

if you want a good quality aftermarket check fuzz aka 2lo2flo on the forums his name in red
he sells good quality alternators that can be daily driven

Cool but The tiida application will need a custom bracket for mounting.

I installed a Tiida 140A alternator on my SR20. Had to fabricate a bracket and adjuster. Had to also use a smaller belt.
