My questions are
> Is the SR18de Cable type tranny and the SR20de Cable type tranny the same? Internals and Strength wise?? .....(Non LSD btw)
>or is the SR20 tranny stronger cuz its a more powerful engine??
Reason is.. we used a SR18de Cable type Tranny on a SR20VVL Blacktop engine... i really want to knw is, IF the SR18 Tranny will hold out with the VVL engine?.. thx

Not sure of the specifics... but gear ratios should be sweet ,,, however I will advise a tranny cooler as those box were made to function with the normal sr20 rated at a lower hp...

not only that - also not changing the oil in a timely manner . ppl feel cause is transmission oil it meant to go the lifetime of the vehicle without changing then when the transmission mash up then they go say this car / transmission is chit
two types of external oil coolers passive and active.
passive coolers are coolers that just have the oil run thru it...usually mounted somewhere it can get a constant supply of air moving over it.
active cooler are pretty much the same. only difference is they have a fan on them . some may have a temp sensor and built in circuitry to trip on and off the fan accordingly - like how the engine fan works.
some may just have the fan wires coming out of it - and you connect to your engine fan.
so when the engine fan comes on...this also comes on.
active unit is better.

hyper v racing (rodney) on the forum has - both passive (without fan) and active (with fan)
i not sure if the active one comes with the temp sensor an circuitry and such. even if it doesn't it still better than the passive ones. as when in traffic the passive ones dont get much airflow to dissipate the heat....
the ones with the fan you can wire it up to the engine fan so when the engine fan comes on..that also comes on...

the only difference is wat my mech called the valve body, had done this before swaped in a sr20 on a sr18 tranny it pulled nice but never crossed 140kmh the valve body was changed and the car pulled normel crossing the 140. felt like the limiter kick in at 140
