hey guy i have '99 B14 with SR20DET with manual box front wheel drive and i just blew my engine but i was just offered SR20vet would this engine work in place of the det?
Would det computer work if i use the vet engine?
would gearbox work with the vet?

VET can work once you get the correct mounts and such.
different engine = different computer - you will need the ECU- plus wiring harness for the engine.
gearbox - I cannot say it may be different -other tuners will need to clarify for you
easier solution- fix the blown SR20DET.

your option could be:
replace the block/head&block + labour + oils
put in the vet is like going from ga to sr as you will need to wire over - even if its only 2 wires the electrician is charging you upwards of 1000 not sure about the engine mounts
put in a vvl & use your turbo setup + aem piggy back 5000+0+7000 with tune and dyno
go back ga16/ga15
go vq35 as their are full swap kits for the mounts / harness etc fitting into the b4 chassis google/youtube

The mounts are the same if I can recall correctly.
Gearbox will work.
Wiring won't be much work.
Go vet. Totally different beast from the det

Using the VET is more than I thought.......
Does anyone know where I can buy DET out of N14 or W11 in Trinidad?

you could go with brakes from P11 with the sr20ve
i think its 11" or go 300zx 4 piston front.

b14 rear wheel disc brake assembly...
price is around $1200 or so. get steel braided brake lines one time.

I already have on the rear disk brakes on B14 just wanted to use something bigger to stop the beast.
So i will buy P11 front but what for rear would work back?

YES

NO VET uses CoP and CAS and is Ethrottle
would gearbox work with the vet?
YES All FWD and 4WD SR's bolt up the same.

I was checking out if anyone ever did a sr20ve 4wd and from my research it couldn't work.
Any truth to this?

My answer was specific to the OP's question.
To be clear, any FWD gearbox/tranny will bolt up to any FWD/4WD SR engine and not the other way around.

i am ordering the engine tmr. i will be doing a brake upgrade from other nissan calipers but once i find which works with stock B14 hubs will post info
