Posting for a friend. It's a 2009 Nissan Teana 200 XL. He was driving and the steering just got stiff.

Power steering fluid up to mark, all belts tight and everything. No visible signs of any fault.

Any suggestions on finding and fixing this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Update: It was a faulty steering pump, cost $5,000.
