Anybody know what the set of wires at the back of the rearview mirror is for? Is it for the backlit gauges, maybe it adjusts the brightness of the panel according the light intensity on the outside? Idk. Its not the light sensor for the auto lights cause its on the dash and the radio antenna is at the rear glass. Anybody?

It's for the rear view mirror notice at night when a high beam light is behind you your rear view mirror gets very dark it's a wired sensor. That's the feature
Auto dimming

Haven't the slightest clue? Why, do your bulbs need changing?

If yes, remove the old one and take it to get new ones.

try using an original disc. not a burn copy

also dvds are distributed by regions. iirc japan is region 2 therefore any dvd that isnt region 2 wont play - try using a dvd that is for the correct region or region free (unrestricted)

also car needs to be in park - it wont play when the car is in gear - safety feature

if its an original on the disc itself or on the packaging it should have the region symbol with a number on it - the number tells which region it works in (-symbol looks like a globe with a number on it see example below) also the region symbol may have the word "ALL" written in it instead of a number.

try to look on the DVD player itself or on the disc holder and see if you can find what region it works with - you can also try to see if you can find an original disc with all regions and try that

region symbol looks like this

some cars if you replace the battery - the deck loses all info an requires a map disc to work again. the DVD player may want to read that disc again - before you get to use it.

i highly doubt this is the case as you indicated all other functions are working.

Any parts place usually have the dog bone mount. My advice is to change it as soon as possible, usually it causes the whole engine to rock, which in turn weakens and eventually damages the other 3 mounts

how long do the original spark plugs last - years / mileage? I have a local bluebird sylphy 5 yrs almost 120,000km.

check engine light is on now, so may service fuel system and change plugs now if it's due. what's the most you guys have gotten from yours? Have a honda stream foreign used and havent changed plugs yet after 10 years! both cars running ok, just the check engine light on the sylphy.

Do a diagnostic and get the code. Could be a bad sensor or coil pack too.

actually it was an air flow issue. The air filter was bent from being sucked in. Sorted out. The mechanic said, other than original Nissan, to use Fram brand. I haven't been using Nissan but first time i've had this problem.

About the plugs, he said they won't miss but the fuel economy will be negatively affected.

The front shock mounts have bursted. Anyone replaced, where can they be bought other than Massy at reasonable cost?
