Wingroad Y11 Sticking Transmission Problem

Hi all,

My Wingroad Y11 (Big Headlight) 2004 model has recently developed a problem where it randomly locks into a gear (most commonly 2nd gear, but it has stuck in a higher gear once or twice). To get out of this problem while driving, I normally have to pull over and restart the car, and it works again with no problems until the issue turns up randomly again.

I carried the car to have a diagnostic test done, and I was told that there is no problem with the transmission, or any other problems showing up on the diagnostic device.

Anyone has an idea what can be done, or where I can go to fix this issue?

what is the condition of your battery / charging system?

When our Y11s batteries were not as strong as originally. not maintaining charge as long etc, their transmissions were _ _ _ _ing up.
Only when the batteries finally die, and we replaced them, the cars went back to normal.

that is with checking via diagnostics, and seeing no faults. didn't even notice a difference a charging cycle. But until the day we got a weak start, or no start, and replaced batteries the problem was there.

Thanks for the reply, but the battery is a new one (a few months old). I don't think it could be the electric system, but I will check it out, thanks for the suggestion!

have this similar problem since Monday, driving going home and all of a sudden its stuck in second gear, stepping on the X and the car goes no where but the engine is revving like it have been neutralize. Pull up at side of the road restart and problem was gone. But the problem is still there, so decided to change fluid and speed sensor. Problem still occurs... Any help will be appreciated, both jsm1985 and I.

who did the scan? and was it a code reader?

I got this same problem an when i scanned the car the Electric throttle body was the problem!Changed it an it works fine.

how can I check if my electronic throttle body is working correctly?

I ask this because I don't want to change a component if it is not the problem...

diagnostic cable.
you would see the value change when throttle is opened / closed
