well seeing you had a diesel in there before id recommend u putting back a same CD20 or if you want you can change it out and put in a GA16.

If u want to go SR20 as turbosingh said, you'll need to upgrade suspension and brakes.

I don't know much about diesel engines, but if you're willing to consider gas and keeping it stock then how about a QG15? I just put one in my B12 and it's running really nice. Or even a QG18 if you want a lil more pep. The QG engines are considerably quiet and economical once tuned properly.

nissangirl, i mean civicgirl, the simplest swap would be a ga15de and transmission. Its a b14 engine, and its a direct bolt up on your car with readily available parts. It would not warranty any brake or suspension upgrades and would also be very economical. I have a cd20 powered b13 as well and personally its a bit too much for just a daily driver and it is not as reliable and does not last as long as a ga15de when they are compared.

btw a b13 is not a civic so please change your name to nissan girl as stated above....thank you

^the prices vary from place to place. Also, some places gives you more stuff with the engine and tranny , than others. For example, some places gives you the engine and tranny mounts but some places don't. Some places will give you the ac compressor but some won't. Most places won't give you any axels but there are a few that do. To ensure that you getting a good deal, please find out the prices and wite it down, and next to the price write down everything that you going and get with the engine.

The qg15de is a very good engine, decent speed and economical as well....

Last month I paid $2000 for a QG15 engine alone without compressor and alternator (reused my old ones) @ A&R Auto Parts in Bick's compound, Penal. The complete engine was $2500, so I guess engine & tranny would prolly be around $3500? Mind you, the GA16 (B13) head and block alone was $2000 & the GA15 engine alone (B14) was >$3000! These engines are older now and less abundant than QGs so I guess that's why they're more expensive. If you're in South you could check the other places in the compound.

I don't have much knowledge of that diesel engine so I'm not sure if your tranny could be reused with the QG instead of having to buy one, as well as axles. Maybe other tuners can give some advice on this?? I was able to reuse my B13 transmission with the QG15.

Also if you go with the QG15, your suspension and brakes can be used AFAIK.
