b14 trouble... HELP

wen i put my car on drive it would not move wen the accelerator is press. it jus rev the engine like if it was on neutral. only wen i put it on #2 then the car would move and after a little while wen place in Drive it would work normal...

any one now what mite be the problem....
any info given would be appreciated!!

gear shifter cable needs adjusting?

Have you driven it in gear position 2 and noticed whether the gears are changing?

had a similar problem,tranny was on its wat out!

ok, just to be clear, assuming that the car is stationary and you shift it on 2, and you pull off, does it go from gear 1 then 2 and then 3....just like if it were on D? or does it shift from 1 then 2 and then no other gear?

if it's the first then yes, do check the cable...it may need some adjustment/replacing of some part(bushing or something).....
