I have a problem with my Cefiro 230JM, SOMETIMES the gear changes rough from 1st to 2nd gear, only on that change all other gears change fine and it doesn't happen all the time. It only happens when I pull off normal speed. If i mash out it changes smooth.
The mechanic found 2 engine mount bad and changed those. put in original from Massy.
It did stop the vibrating i was getting on the steering wheel but the gear change problem is the same.
Any suggestions??

Check fluid level, and was the oem spec fluid used in the tranny.

If the problem you're getting is the rpm running high and sounding like it's racing and then 2nd gear coming in this can be a sign of fatigue of the components of the transmission, this can be due to normal wear and tear or wrong or dirty fluid.

normal operation man.....I get that too, occasionally, and I know of some other 230jm/jk men who have expressed similar concerns.....that's just how it goes in and it appears to be harsh.....your bad mounts would have made it feel very bad, as if transmission is going bad or malfunctioning.....at some speeds if the 4th gear does not get to go in, the car would feel at times as if it wants to "buck"....so I just switch it to 3rd and all's well......I however think that I need to change my fluid......

but anyway, check your trans fluid and if it needs to be changed the motorist/massey recommends that you use this.....


$52 a quart....you'd need about 8-10 quarts.....

i get this to in my 230.^^^is that how it Suppose to actually work?
