WTK : Best Brand and Type of Shocks for a P11 Wagon

Which would you guys suggest i buy.....taking into consideration i drive the car daily and sometimes from San Juan to P/Town, Debe etc....

I find the ones i have on too soft ( probably cause they dead ) but i dont want no hard and bumpy ride.......i runnin 225 x 45 x 17's on a set of pinnacle mantis........car is original height......

Looking to buy on Monday 30th Nov.

I heard that tokico gives u a much softer ride... not as still and controlled but more comfortable. I'll call Lange T'dad tomorrow and see what price they have them for..

recently installed Tokico in my dad's almera along with front energy suspension and the handling was a big big big difference . The ride felt a bit stiff but i guess the energy suspension had a part to play for that . Had KYB before - which gives more of a comfort ride compared to the tokico .

im not sure about the agents, but u can get the crappy Excel G in most parts place

the GR2's or AGX, u might hav to bring them in urself

my understanding is that GR2 = Excell G its just different markets and KYB usa vs KYB europe/rest of world. There is however a noticable difference in build quality, the steel is all thicker and the bushings are sturdier. You cannot find GR2 other than in the USA.

I have seen munroe shocks for the P11 wagon before but I cannot say where they were bought. It was being changed out at RON's in duncan village so try cipero street.

As of yet I have not seen the correct (KYB) shock being sold for the wagon rear, its usually a B14 shock they are selling you because it "fits". anybody want to hazzard a guess as to the weight of the P11 wagon to a B14? How long does it last? If somewhere has the correct part please let me know.

Tokico does have a softer ride, its a stock replacement, Excell G is a one step up upgrade kinda thing about 15% stiffer than OEM. AGX is where you can get it, USA? wagon rear shock cup is smaller than the sedan, no wagons were sold in the USA, there are some in canada in the P11-144 model.

X_Factor, GR2 is the same as Excel G and the Excel G's aren't crappy....they do stiffen the stock ride but imho handling/cornering improves...

but im pretty sure the build quality of the GR2 vs the Excell G is different
im seeing the same info on the KYB site

presently im using the excell G and honestly, i was hoping them to be a bit more stiffer

might bring them next yr wen i head up miami

you get monroe shocks at automotive supplies company (think thats the name)
on the street opp. pos fire station.

I have Excel G's on the front and the back in the P11 and they are an improvement to the OEM shocks. You do notice a bit of roughness to the ride, but to me, its design is more suited for our nice roads. I think the Excel G's allow for less deflection on the suspension which may lead to bushings lasting a bit longer. I believe also it depends on the brand of tires that you are running, you tech fellas can correct me on this. A tire where tread wear is less may ride a bit harder than one where thread wear is more.
