It was a priceless learning experience. To see the stuff in front of you after reading about it.Hopefully this will answer some questions.

In this picture you can see the difference in oem thickness of the DET ring on top compared to the SR20VE one on the bottom.

Comparison of the wider ring land for the DET VS sr20VE - left and right respectively.

Sr20DET 8CW crank left and SR20VE 4CW crank right.
CW=counter weight. See the actual counter weights.

Stated in another thread on this forum, all SR20 cranks, with the exception of the GTiR are the same, these two don't look the same.
Is the one on the left from the N14?

I'd like to make a correction: they aren't quite identical between VE and DE/T series.

The VE oil pump has a different drive (I think a shorter, more recessed snout). All crank and rod journals are identical though, so you can mix and match in any block -- VE or DE. (e.g. DE crank with DET oil pump in a DE block or VE crank in a DET block with a VE oil pump).

flywheel bolts, timing chain and crank pulley bolt are otherwise the same.

Yakuza hahah Riyad told me to take the socket off before I took the pic.
The one on the left just has the socket on it but they're identical.

I saw the year of mfg for 8cw some place.. let me dig.

I thought the SR20VE has 8 counter weights opposed to the SR20DE that has 4?
It is posted on other threads.
Anyone care to share some light on this!

Off topic:
The QR25DE has 8 CW also...not too sure about the QR20DE.

QG other way around.
But as Yakuza stated there is a production run of Sr20Ves what came with 8CWs.. a very very short run though. No way to tell unless you get it from a date stamped half.

Nissan went back to using the 8CW cranks in the 20VE's cause they more stable at high RPM's, SR16VE, SR20VE/20V, & SR20VET all have 8 CW cranks.
