need help with a/c

as topic states. . .the a/c was working up to the point when the compressor bearing started making noise, so after about a yr now i have refitted the compressor and regassed the system, but nothing. . .i found the a/c fuse to be blown, i changed that, still nothing. . .the a/c switch light comes on sometimes, but when its 'on' still the a/c dont work.
i looked into the wiring diagrams which are on here but the colours simple to be slightly different, but everything seems to be in the same location so far. . .however im seein in the manual there is an ECU (eccs) is this within the engine's ECU or does the a/c unit carries it own? my motor is carb btw. if it has its own ECU where is it located? everything based on the sentra manual seems to be gettin the batt power at ignition, but the triggers for the relays are not doin they jobs and i feel this is where the problem is. i will rechk the amount of a/c gas in the system tomorrow again for it maybe as simple as an a/c leak

and the pressure swt not bein able to activate.
any help with this or a wiring diagram will be nice.
thanks

ok if you sure you got gas in the system you can run a direct wire to the compressor giving it a +12v and see if the compressor clutch engages if so jumper the wire by the pressure switch on the drier bottle if it don't work the jumper the connector on the relay. if it don't work check the fuse

if not just continue working backward from the compressor to the thermostat oh don't forget to jumper that too

hey thanks for all that, but about 20mins after i wrote my first post i took a look back at the manual again, saw what i saw and went and bridge the pressure switch and it worked

so its either not enuff gas or pressure switch is screwed.
i see in the manual they talk about a pressure relief valve located on the compressor which vents to atmosphere if pressure raises above 540psi.
does this mean that if you where to put too much gas into the system it will bleed it self untill is good?
.60-.70kgs

ok now i have leaks. . .seems like its on the compressor. . .they hav hex bolts which looks like they securin a bracket.
did anyone deal with this?
can you get the seals for them?

well i didnt get a answer from you guys, so after four hex bolts later the bracket was off. . .it carries a rubber seal around it. . .well i dont believe the dealership will have seals for this area, they may want me to buy a entire compressor so i just sealed it with silicone

will be gasin today again. . .

great!!!. . .i believe i have passed one problem and have gine another. . .in my first post i mensioned about the a/c fuse blowing. . .well its blowin again. . .and some how the only thing which comes to mind is the magnet on the compressor. . .
has anyone has had this problem before?
if yes. what was the final fix?

yes if the clutch magnetic coil burnt it will keep blowing the fuse. it can be changed but the "good news" is that you have to remove the compressor to get to it or remove the top engine mount and the cross member and lower the engine so you can work on the compressor and this may help you

you said the goodnews lol lol. . .what i will try to do today before i jump to do anythign with the compressor is. . .i will stick another fuse in there. . .but i will also fuse the compressor seperately. . .lookin back at the manual i see there can be two possible manfunctionin parts. . .the compressor and the IACV. . .my IACV does not work. . .
also its a 10A fuse which is located on the inside that is blowing. . .in this manual
http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/Sentra/1998 ... _GA/ha.pdf i only see 15A and 7.5A fuses. . .also the little green light on the a/c button does not work, but the compressor and a/c still works when the fuse is not blown.
my car is a 1996 AD wagon with the GA16 motor. . .
