Yes Super Gasoline is rated at RON 92
While PREMIUM is rated as RON 95

Super and Premium have no lead and so have no effect on the catalytic converter.
The manufacturer's recommendation for fuel octane should be followed.
However, I know two people who use Super (92 Octane) in their Tiida (the manual states use 95 octane).

I was told by the salesman in NM that my Tiida would be able to use super. Had the engine getting blazing hot for a week, even brought it in to them, but they denied there was a problem. I switched to premium and there was no problem. False advertising FTL.

The tank cover says 95 only damnit :x

If I knew this I would have bought a corolla :| The amount of money I wast on premium gas these years eh... tisk tisk.

When I bought my Tiida in 2010 the sales lady lied to me and told me the car could use super. It says 95 octane on the lid. Now I'm stuck paying over twice the price of gas. I want to use super but I'm concerned about damaging my engine.

I believe only Tiida sold by N&M use 95 . the Ro Ro's recommend 91.. I think

really good update.....funny though....the tiida needs premium while the sylphy takes super......

sylphy being the bigger and more spacious car is the better buy now....

so will price of tiida go down?.......since its now more expensive to full up?.....

Neal and Massy is not straight-forward with its fuel octane recommendation for Nissan vehicles, the Tiida Sylphy and Versa all use the same engine. (Read between the lines!!!!!) You have the power of your wallet NOT Neal and Massy

Actually the HR15de runs lower cylinder head temperature than the HR16de hence the lower octane requirement. The reason behind this is the HR15 has a shorter stroke enabling the cylinder head to be a bit larger with bigger water ports cut into the head.

Help!!!

Purchasing a RORO nissan Tiida, the sales rep said I can use super, that there is no big difference in terms of how the vehicle performs. Neal and Massy said to use Premium, I am confused.

btw, the engine is a HR15.

:?

Forget the dealer he will just say whatever it takes to get you to buy the vehicle. Does the vehicle come with a manual?? check it, even if it is Jap you will still see RON92 or RON95 or whatever. that is the sure way.

I have Read the entire post and 'wwwwwwaaaaayyyyy boy' it real dread as I still am unclear as to my options what Gas is recommended !

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Vehicle Information :
Year - 2006
Brand - Nissan
Make - Y12 Wingroad Rider
CC -1500cc
Engine - HR 15
Manuf' Country -Japan
Import Type - RORO ( dealer / F/used )

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

No engine upgrades etc. , but I am now told to use Premium RON95 instead of super RON92 which I am using with no problems !

My wife have a 5 year old Tiida from N&M ( local ) which uses premium only RON95 ( same HR engine as mine ) with no problem ?

I have read all kind of stuff of local, RORO, catalyst converter and compression differences etc as to what GAS to use.

Please advise or guide me what gas type ( RON92 and RON95 ) to use on my Y12 Wingroad Rider 'HR15' vehicle ?

Your advise would be greatly noted.

According to the Nissan Manual on the Nissan Tiida HR15 engine...RON91 Minimum can be used! Yes you can use Super Unleaded RON92 in your Nissan Y12 Wingroad.

But you will lose engine power if you use Super RON92 since the ECU will automatically reduce engine timing in order to accommodate the lower Octane (RON) level.

Just about the same thing, the name just applies to the region of issue I believe, but its the same Van, there might be some differences in the rear suspension but I could be wrong

So I'm seeing in the flier above you can use super for a Wingroad but the Tida uses premium.. Any specific reason why? I have 2011 Y12 and just looking for what fuel I should use..

Whichever is your pref. If going with synthetic oil use a long life filter.
