It has a 3.8 liter twin turbo V6. Producing 480 hp an 430lb-ft or torque. 6 speed transmission, 15-inch rotors, 6 piston calipers in front and 4 in the rear. Sittin' on 20's. 0X :fist:

This is all I like. If they wanted me to like the rest they shouldn't market it as the new Skyline or even a GTR. Then again it does have some Gran Touring characteristics.

It comes standard with 20's and was the hardest hitting production car tested by edmunds  Mines did over the exhaust on their skyline they gained 100hp i think, the skyline is rated at 480 by nissan but is actually 100hp more when a owner in japan took it to a dyno.

So for all you crazy nissan junkies who can afford it, the new Nissan GTR can take quiet a bit of modification to its predecessor.

It is faster than the new 911 porsche turbo  everyone suspects that Toyota is watching closely and we assume they have plans for the new Supra :D

Check up on youtube and edmunds.com for the vids. I saw the reviews as they were available sometime in march.

Hold up there horsie... you know that everything in the GTR is so computer controlled that a lot of upgrades can only be utilised if the ECU is hacked/swapped right? Even a change in wheels can cause it to stop working.

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/07/niss ... ace-track/

It was only recently that they've cracked the ECU and from what I understand it's no walk in the park so it may still be best to go to MINES or Haltech.

The "old" Skyline GTRs have been running the RB26 since 1989 and have become so much of a legend that everyone invested in tuning it, so much that it's far from difficult to get a few extra WHP by simply visiting a forum or to change from 4WD to RWD for drifting by simply pulling a chip i.e. it's far more friendly to mods.

I know about the old legends with the infamous RB26DETT's that came standard from Nissan’s production line. Lots of tuners invest in them because of the engine's potential for handling lots of power quiet easily. Like you said by visiting online forums one can learn how to do simple mods to make a stock skyline faster and gain more WHP. We ourselves have an RB engine in a project car that we've been working on in our spare time.

I agree with what you're saying and you are right as well. But do you think this would stop people from trying to do modifications to this car? It may take sometime but I predict that we should be seeing quiet a bit of aftermarket stuff for the Nissan GTR within the next couple years.

The car does have potential it’s just a matter of time until this GTR becomes a legend in its own right just as its predecessors. I myself am a big Nissan fan, but I also have quiet a bit of respect for other auto manufacturer brands such is, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi and Toyota just to name a few.

Not to go off topic too much, but I'm really interested in seeing what Toyota has planned in response to Nissan's new GTR. I am also a fan of the Supra but haven't anything about a new one coming back into the scene.

Also if you notice, Mitsubishi has some of the most advanced technology invested into their vehicles, such as the Evolution series as well as their new SUV's such as the AirTrek, and correct me if I'm wrong here, it also shares the evo's platform?

Personally if I could afford a car like this, I'd be pretty happy with it as is and enjoy it as much as I can. When modifications do come out I'd love to install them and feel the difference in responsiveness of the vehicle.

I guess what I'm really trying to say here is basically, just don't give up on this new car just yet. Yes we know it has a lot of new technology, yes it’s pretty hard to crack etc, but as the saying goes

that new skyline is awesome , crism really has it on sale for a mil , but the nissan dealership isn't even offering to bring this skyline. The man that buys this would be the king of the road for sometime (old skyline men hold on to your girls)because it wouldn't be that readily available like that for anyone else to purchase in some months well so he'll have so good braggin time on his hands because it's one of one, someone will step up to the plate and but it. The cars is real sexy the best looking sports car i think i have ever seen. too bad i can't afford it

Why? Does it make economical sense to bring a car like than new for more than a mil, considering the price of a used one?

Considering they will have a car on their hands that won't sell immediately and will depreciate in time, they would end up in a loss... makes no sense... even if it is for display. As a business you have to turn over quickly to make a profit enough to pay all expenses etc.

I remember a while back Toyota having a 4500GT in their showroom...Lifestyle motors have a Carrera and at one time Sterling had an S-Class. All these cars except the 4500GT were close to or over 1 mil....what it shows though is the capability of a manufacturer.

So having a GTR in the showroom is not such a bad idea.....from a marketing point of view.

Plus we'd all get the chance to look at a new GTR up close
