Ok tuners here is my predicamenti have a Sr box that came off a Bluebird with a Sr18 engine the halfshaft that i got with it has 27 splines and is 17 3/4 in.
when i bolted up the box the halfshaft appeared to be too short by about 2inches and the half shaft that came with the auto is 19 3/4 inches as the fool

iam i sent it to trini to length the only thing is the made it too long now my original haftshaft is no good i have been trying for a couple months to get the shaft replaced but keep getting other halfshaft so i have about 3 different shaft.
What i have come to understand is that-
1-My auto halfshaft is 25spline 19 3/4in and works on manual and auto sr18 and also auto sr20rr
2- maybe if i had switch the brace or bracket that came with the manual halfshaft(27splines 17 3/4in) it would of work
what i want to know is what kind of Gear box do i have ? is it Sr18 or 20
What i do know
-it is hydralic where as most Sr18 boxes are cable
-it is big spline
-it has a different mount and bracket to the sr18 boxes on the B13gts
-my box is also bigger that the one on the Sr18 b13
-my box is not lsd
Tunners i realy need your help it has been about 3 months since i undertook this task of converting from manual to auto now when i look at it i just get sick like for real sick cause it en easy to keep spending money on thing that can't work so any advice tips would be welcome.

Probably repeating what you said before... but the box is the hydraulic box from the P11 and corresponding bluebird. Its the newer of the boxes if you were wondering.
Get some pics from all angles and I will tell you if its LSD or not.
The guys on SR20forum are always swapping this box into their B13s, so I'm surprised that you are having issues..
Really not sure if their is a difference in the ratios in this newer box.. but I wouldnt be surprised if they were different from the SR20..

the halfshaft on the to is the original for the gear box it is 27 spline (and i lengthened it to the length of the green one but the axcle shop made it too long.
the green or 2nd came off my Sr18 auto and is what i was using on my Sr20transmission it is also the same halfshaft that is used on the b13gts Sr18 manual (25 spline and 193/4inches length)
the last shaft i dont know what car it came off it is 25 spline and this is the length the halfshaft at the top was 17 3/4inches
Because the axcle shop lengthened the halfshaft too much this is the end result wont bolt to the engine
these are the braces i guess the can be swaped from half shaft to halfshaft to adjuset length i am guessing.
and this is the mount i got with the gear box and i got the bracket made
so can anyone tell me what to.

Which box you got?

are you absolutely sure that the shaft is going all the way into the box? (

)
anyway... i had that issue once where the mechanic swore that i needed to get new shafts because it wasn't fitting properly and was too long. I told him that that's the exact same shaft that I used before with the same gearbox, so it must fit. A few bangs and wiggles later and it popped all the way into the box.
On my SSS, I've been using the same long axle that came with the car originally (SR20DE automatic). I've used SR20 and SR18 boxes (all cable though) and they all work with the same long side. The shorter side was different on the LSD and I had to shorten the stock one by about an inch.

thanks for the help Bigz but the only thing i understand so far is the difference bitween the Lsd and Non-lsd axcles.
My box came off a bluebird U13 so i dont think it is the same as the b14 and b15 boxes. the B14 box the one with the fins looks like the one on th p11
most of those axcles look like 25spline while iam looking for 27spline
Dry i tried to hammer it in but it was no us cause like i said i lengthen my original halfshaft and i guess it too long now cause it not bolting to the back of the engine like the pic shows.
Do u guys think i could cut off a pice where the splines are about 3/4 in so the half shaft goes all the way in ?
on another note i tried to get back the original halfshaft (27 spline) but it seems it hard to find.

Can someone please tell me what to do should i just try and get back my original halfshaft and try one of these
to make the shaft go closer to the box to make up for the length ?

Big Z u good boi how you find that ?
ok so it either i cut my shaft and shorten it back or there is one of thoses mamimas close around the V6 2.0 wonder if the halfshaft will work the only thing is the owner still useses it.
what u think BigZ should i cut it and shorten it back to its original length?

Best option IMHO is to shorten the correct half shaft.
BUT.. make sure you have the correct length to work with.
Measure twice... cut once. Corny but true.
I strongly suggest you mock up the setup with the axles and hubs installed to see what length is required.

same thing i was thinking cause i dont want to cut and fit back and then there is a problem now from the halfshaft to the hub
thanks for the advice

Hey guys..I have a burning question. I own a 1993 B13 Sentra AWD which came with a SR20. The engine is non turbo, speed limiter works, all I do is drive frm work to home(Arouca to Champ fluers). I don't run this car hard at all even though I know t has a lil ting in it. Yet in the 3 yrs I have owned the car, I have changed 2 engines and now the present one has a knock in it. Mechanic told me its not bearings its the piston rod that is worn. He also told me that I have been using the wrong body oil( 20-50 as opposed to the recommended 10-30).
My question is is sr20 sr20 or is there an sr20 fwd engine and a sr20 awd engine.I was under the impression that engine is engine and it is the gearbox that matters.
Dem fellas in the bamboo say that sr20awd gearbox will not fit on a normal sr20 fwd engine and that the sr20 awd engine hard to get.
I need one badly, like yesterday ........ and if sr20 fwd engines could line up ...I go buy one in de morning.
please help....

The sr20det comes in AWD and RWD only.
FWD gearboxes line up just fine on this engine.
Rod knock is common in the sr.. its unfortunate that it happened to you twice.
The issue you may have is that the FWD engine may hit the AWD crossmember.
Take a look at the engine from under your car and see if its the same as the FWD when you go to buy.
As always, sr20forum....
