I recently installed a BOV, now I tend to get a back fire now and then when I run the RPM high and then slowing down gradually. It does not happen all the time, it is very loud. Is this a serious problem? Can anyone help? Oh I never had this problem with my REC. valve.

some setups seem to do this with a blowoff valve venting to atmosphere.

Hook back up the recirc. valve and u might see it stops.

Not sure how to fix the problem tho.

Once the BOV is not recirculated like H2O said it will cause that, the reason being is that the ECU is not getting the vented air to compensate and would therefore create an incorrect mixture making it too rich and after the mixture exit the chamber there will still be unburnt fuel left that would cause the pop or backfire out the exhaust. At redlights it may also cause the idle to hunt or stall out as well. If you have a tuneable ECU this should be able to be adjusted to have a regular idle and no backfire.

A back fire isn't really a problem by itself (may be annoying)

My first live experience of Indy Car racing was very suprising in that those cars back fire a lot of the time under braking, decelerating

My SR20DET blacktop does it occasionally as well, and yes I have a TurboXS Venting Blow off valve
