I've clean my e-throttle several times, even on my pal's wife car and everything was successful.
I never cleaned pvc though.

What you can do if the problem still persists, disconnect your battery pole for like 10 minutes, turn car on (do not start yet), turn off, and then start and let car idle for a while. if that method dont work then you may need to get a consult 2 scan tool and re-learn the throttle.

I tried the 10min thing already. I already contacted someone to get it checked.

makes no sense. a starter sells for about 200 foreign used.

less than 150 to do a brushes service, Theres no need to buy a new one.

I embedded getting one in the bamboo, but a brushes service? Never heard of that, I was able to start the car with the faulty one by bridging it, it started immediately, and worked normally until I changed it, is that a "brushes" problem, or the solenoid?

Solenoid activates the gear to engage outward to turn the engine and powers the electro magnet to turn the gear.
So it sounds like the Solenoid or the contacts.

What distance is the car being driven daily? Does your wife drive hard? What you can do is re-fuel and set the odo meter to zero to monitor what mileage you all got on a full tank of gas.

*The fuel guage could be faulty too, but lets focus on what milege you get from a full tank*

Ok guys,update time...
I set the odometer with a full tank and got approx 300kms.
I carried the car to clean out throttle body and injectors which were filthy!
The idle speed afterwards was crazy, idling at 1500rpm! So i carried it to a diagnostic guy who reset the idle speed to normal...
So far the gas burning ok-ish,im still watching to see if anything changes...

Now that you did that tune up, monitor driving again to see if there IS ACTUALLY an improvement in gas consumption. 300 is poor but not alarming. Monitor driving habits as well, like avoid heavy acceleration and avoid heavy braking during deceleration.

those engines are capable of making more than 380km.

Avoid driving over 4000rpms on daily routine, once you drive above that prepare to burn gas  ....these VTC equipped vehicles will use extra fuel at higher rpms.

You can also change your O2 sensor. A faulty oxygen sensor can allow the engine to use extra fuel.
Another factor that contributes to use more fuel is the amount of gunk and sludge that is built up inside the engine.

Yes and Yes...and its about $400-$600 if my memory serves me well. I've never bought those sensors before, I only bought Cam and Crank sensors from Neal and Massy.

Oh I recommend buying sensors brand new (Motorist or Massy's). Buying a second hand sensor is a risk because you do not know the remaining life span on them.

I bought a new o2 sensor at an auto parts place,it wasnt the original but it was compatible with the almera, cost me $360,the one by the motorist was $948. So far after install ive seen a better change in gas consumption but i dnt wanna talk too soon,im still watching to see..
