For a daily driven, non high performance engine?

Any mineral (non synth oil), changed at regular 5000 km intervals (viscosity of your choosing) should be fine.

An example of this would be like, Castrol GTX.

agreed.
You dont need the expensive oil in a stock car.
Welding on a fart can and adding a cone filter does not make your car a race car either.

amsoil wrote:Once your engine is in good working condition the best way to go is synthetic,
there are many brands its up to you to do your research,
wat i can say though is that Amsoil is the first in synthetics and has been the most advanced since 1972.
The Amsoil 20w 50 will be a good choice you can cheak it out
http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/aro.aspx

why 20w50 for an engine in good working condition?

It is correct that it is depended on budget. There are many lots of companies of oil of cars and I think everyone prefer different to use. I prefer Castrol for my car.
