Burnt brake light sockets

ES8 brake sockets burnt...
Any suggestions or fix?

I've seen this happen where the entire tail light assembly had to be replaced.
No post mortem was done just entire unit replaced. For what it's worth, it was the face lift ES model and they went from the crystal tail to the regular tail. They couldn't get used crystal finish ones to buy.

Thanks but I'm also wondering what could cause this..even third socket by windshield melted

my 2c

the rubber below the pedal fall out, brakes light remained lighting for a long period and caused it

I now realize that previous owners changed the sockets and it don't seem these could take the heat...melt and made quite a mess.
The outer cover still good...
I changed one completely..
Going by autonation to get a socket

Good time to switch to LED.Less heat

It was the cheap replacement sockets...got it new by autonation and problem fixed

LED is a great option
