Siberian bushing review needed

Postby *KRONIK* » October 16th, 2021, 8:27 am

Looking to replace some lower cradle bushings soon and the options are:
1) superpro
2) siberian bushing
3) OEM

I switched from another brand (at the rear of the vehicle) to superpro and the difference was night & day.
Softer, smoother, quieter.
But the cost of superpro is a deterrent

The heard about/saw the siberian bushing (and yes i know who supplies it locally) and wanted a real world review; not from the seller, but from someone who actually used/uses them and your thoughts.

OEM is currently the cheapest/quietest option

But installation cost is the same for all options.

So....share your thoughts....

Literally lol. Amazon has good reviews. Know the yellow bushing, never paid attention to the name.
Soft will suggest the durometer is low.
I would be inclined to the softer durometer in Trinidad. Energy and prothane tend to be on the harder side. Prothane more forgiving than energy.
Supers are good but always seems to be expensive. White line are the performance oriented ones.

Recently used some of their controm arm bushings and sway bar bushings on a SJ forester. Build quality is good and fitment is also very good. Only thing, you NEED to use a lot of grease (i use superlube) to make sure it doesnt squeak, but you may still get a little bit of noise in applications with a lot of movement like sway bars.
It isn't loud, but it is noticeable, compared to whiteline (black) and prothane (black) which have given me no noise in the same application.

Give it a try man

Is for a pick-up
Lower control arm application
So its the cased ones i need not the plain ones.

I still contemplating which direction to go

Well, I never used Siberian on any sort of heavy duty application, but I run whiteline polyurethane on my Hilux Surf and I abuse it on and off road and they hold up well with no noise and good handling. Like i say, the key with poly is greasing it properly, the more grease the better haha

Before buying the Siberian bushings for the Forester I spoke to a member of the subaruforester forums from Barbados extensively about it. He had nothing but good to say, and i assume he sees a similar use case as mine (mostly road, occasionally unpaved/bad road etc)

So far 4 months in with it, handling is great, slight noise from the sway bar bushing when flexing but definitely not an annoying noise, just something to notice. For the price it was, (much much less than the competitors) I think it was worth a shot in my case.

Just use good grease (I use superlube) and you should be ok.

In my limited experience
Cradle bushings - spend the extra money and get the super pro
Sway bar bushings - avoid both super pro and siberian. OEM rubber is half the price and lasts just as long
Siberian dry rots after a few years.

Noted

But i think i'll stick with the OEM

SuperPro in itself doesnt justify the price.

I will consider the negative remark about siberian based on your review.

But, price vs performance....i think the OEM win

I'm very interested to hear a bit more about the dryrot on the siberian bushing.

I will try to remember to check back in whenever something happens to the Siberians I have on the forester, so I can maybe offer some feedback when it comes to that (maybe in a few years?)

I guess the poly vs rubber argument really might be vehicle specific, since some vehicles are easy on their bushings, but others chew them up quickly (like the SJ forester)

Re the forester, key thing is that the wife didn't complain about the harsher ride, but she did notice the turn-in being more responsive etc. Could also be that the alignment was corrected after the bushings were changed too

Looking to buy SIBERIAN BUSHINGS for VRG Galant rear suspension how do they work compare to poly and why does it have to be greased.

All polyurethane bushings get dry so from installation the areas need to be cleaned and liberal amounts of a water proof grease used.
Hence why most them come with grease with the bushings.
