Raise car height - How to?

Postby mrreaz » September 24th, 2019, 4:50 pm

What options are available to raise the height of a car (e.g. sedan-type lie a civic) if it is too low.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Raising height above factory spec will make handle like sheit unless you also widen the track.

IF the suspension is modded, return to stock.

Well i dont think thats safe to do.

Lifting will throw off your alignment parameters outside of the factory adjustment.

Why you need to lift the car tho?

This dont actually work tho
This just changes the point of the shock piston, the only way get lift is to add preload to the strut either by using a longer or stiffer coil, or adding a spacer.

It's not the only way... Some after coilovers have independent height adjustment through the strut housing; it is not only dependent of preload.

Stiffer springs from another vehicle that might fit, aftermarket spring perches, strut spacers.

The double eye pictured above doesn't look safe but can work once it is a coilover/strut. If the spring is separate from the shock absorber then it will not.
