Nice link ! Didn't even have time to read the whole thing, but very accurate info there.

I prefer blank discs for the street (here in Trini). Driving up the US, where the highways stretch for miles and I'd average 80+ mph, I preferred cross drilled. Slotted just ate up pads too fast. Althought I did find my cross drilled disc were good for what it was... stopping distances on the road increased and yes, the rotor life was shorter than normal (cracks).

Yeah... Slotted or X drilled don't decrease stopping distance at all... it's the opposite, they will increase distances if you're using the same pad type and brand as before. Remember, less surface area is less stopping force overall.

The slotted/drilled really helps with constant braking>it throws off more heat like solodex, rallying, etc.I heard some men say that they got reduced breaking with the rotor and an overall more confident brekaing experience on the same hyundaiperformance.com forum.

I've always thought the extra ventilation helped heat dissipation too especially since they seem to help with repeated long distance or high speed braking, but that link has a pretty convincing arguement that the reduction in disc mass does the opposite, decreasing thermal limits.... :|

Hmmm...i guessing..more masa..could take more heat..take longer to heat up too...dissipate more at the same time...so the argument of less mass disi'ing less could hold true.I didn't read that thing in months. Will do and get back to you on it later :!:
