wtk: battery changeout in subaru (problems after)

Postby dreadburns » October 8th, 2012, 11:11 am

Need some info on problems associated with battery replacement in subaru. I changed my battery and the car was only tumbling and not starting. After several attempts it started but idlinig real low almost to cut off. Ran a scan at master serve and they said it did not have any error codes. Does anyone know how to solve problem.

Had to clean the throttle body and that resolved the problem

I see this alot
When you take battery out or simply disconnect, the elctronics reset
the servo for idle goes to min position and gets stuck from not working in that position and dirt buildup.

do an idle re-set...the scan tool is supposed to be able to do it.

when I disconnect my battery for any period I have to do throttle recalibration, accelerator pedal recalibration (both simple procedures to do without scantool) and then do idle re-learn...if I don't do the latter then the car would not maintain idle.....so unless you know the procedure to use without the scan tool then I suggest you have someone re-set it....
