HELP-cleaning car winsheild!!

Postby konartis » May 31st, 2012, 8:51 pm

i'm experiencing a problem..a haze when driving at nights using my win-shield wipers...when the rain is falling and using the wipers..the haze/streaks is soo bad that it blurs and makes it hard for me to see the road, as the wipers pass this happens and disappears after a few seconds....looking for somthing to get this cleaned, i bought a cleaning agent, but it doesnt work..having browsed the internet forums i came up with an acid wash to get rid of it...any ideas what works best? some say vinegar,coke,rain-x cleaner...dont want to keep buying stuff that doesnt work...any help with this will go a long way...sure alot if experiencing this...

wash off any oil residue using powder soap , dry properly and then apply two coats of RAIN-X. Make sure the wipers are in good condition and don't forget to clean the inside with some good glass cleaner from the ten dollar store :-)

why would he have to apply two coats of Rain-X repellent?

get new wipers, and before you install them, clean the glass with Glass Scrub, then apply Rain Clear repellent. you can get the Glass Scrub and Rain Clear combo to buy at Xtra Foods.

one coat would suffice, but with my experience using the product, i find that i get more time between applications when i use two.

well i did the scrub thing and the vinegar and clay, didnt help that much...eased up, but not too much, and i think that the rain repellent caused the build up...might have to get it replaced...
