Y11 AD Wagon Transmission

Postby KingDrive » March 18th, 2012, 6:45 pm

Presently experiencing alot of "bucking" and "hold backs" when the transmission shifts down.
I'm also getting a "burnt" smell from the transmission oil on the dip stick.
I'm assuming it is the transmission clutches that have gone bad.
* Is my assumption correct or wrong?
* Would u suggest that I change the clutches or replace the transmission?
* And where is the best place to get transmissions in excellent condition to buy?

Rebuild all the way. A foreign used QG transmission costs about $2500, then you have to consider the cost to actually replace it, while a rebuild with new parts costing around $2200.

Do I really have to re-build the entire transmission if it is jus the clutches that are bad.
And so much money for a Y11 AD transmission. I thought it was about $800-$900 in d bamboo.
