Y11 AD Wagon - Better Suspension

Postby KingDrive » March 18th, 2012, 6:35 pm

Tryin to make the AD a little more comfortable to drive.
Any Y11 AD Wagon owner knows the bumpy, upsetting drive experience.
With the smallest of bumps and gravel on the road, you feel as though the car is going up the side of a rock mountain on just rims...
I'm thinking about changing the existing gas shocks, but I'm not sure if to go with oil shocks or gas-oil shocks.
Some people say the oil shocks are too soft and the gas-oil shocks provide a bit more handling.
The AD only carries around me and my wife. So the existing gas shocks always ride rough & bumpy.
Can anyone give some advice and any other recommendations?
Also does anyone know how much something like this would cost?

had a friend with the same problem, he went and got rsr springs (lowering springs)from the bamboo
used paid around 800$
front and back

changed it out ,he used the oem shocks that the car came with foreign used

car drop was like 1.5 and 2" to the back more or less

car handles like a champ Little or no bounce (car had 15" rims, which was pretty wideish cant recall xactly)

I am not really interested in dropping the car right now. I just want to get a smoother ride with soft bouncing.
Right now the car is completely stock with its original height, shocks and suspension.. and this is what is causing the rough ride, the original parts.
I just need advice on what I could do to get a softer ride from the AD on trini roads. I was thinking about either oil shocks or gas-oil shocks... but not sure what to use and not sure if this would do the trick.
