Almera Problem - missing at high rpms

Postby rawr » December 9th, 2010, 11:20 am

My almera has recently started to give some trouble and starting to miss at higher rpms, any ideas as to what could be causing this problem?

Hey rawr
Have you tried different plugs? I have heard the platinum plugs can cause issues. I run regular autolite plugs.... But its just a guess.

check your engigne, a miss could be a hairline cack on the haed, or could just be in need of new plugs.

a scan can tell you if there is misfire, could be the cam/crank sensor heading for its last breath,

did you engine wash any time?
coil packs maybe, at least take them out and check for moisture, even if they are dry one or more may be breaking down at high rpms and will need replacement. also if they look dry it may have water inside if you can leave them overnight in a warm place (fridge or AC exhaust) to dry properly it may help

check the coil connectors are secure the clips tend to break and so the connector may be loose
