Postby Stig786 » March 10th, 2010, 5:30 pm

Hey guys I'm looking to get a local 02 focus but ive been reading online ppl have some problems most of them in the states tho..........
I'm wondering if these problems are specific to Trinidad as well can anybody tell me of any serious problems they have encountered in an 02 focus thanks in advance

Essentially completely different cars. Check UK websites but they seem to be nice reliable runabouts.

The Police have some on the road still, pbt- pbs, that should be an indication of how strong they are  Only problem i know of is the front rotor warping causing steering to shake during braking but those were isolated cases.

Stig786, if you like the focus buy it, it won't be cheap to maintain, nowhere as cheap as a nissan but it's your choice, i drive 2 galants, a vr4 and a vrg gdi and everyone bad talked the gdi, 208000 km and still going strong with no headaches *knock on wood*. The focus is very fuel efficient and aren't a target for thieves.

^^^ the vehicles these occurred in were basically abused so this being the only major problem arising should be reassuring.

thanks for all the replies guys
i know it mite not be cheap to maintain but as for parts we get parts from the us for our E class so focus parts shouldn't be ah problem *knock on wood*

i was really looking for any instances where pistons broke connecting rods got loose or anything of the sort cause I've seen it in some US models but i think it doesn't affect the ones down here but I'm not sure

again thanks for the replies guys its much appreciated....
