WTK: Machining Velocity Joints

Postby TrinbagoMan » July 12th, 2009, 12:25 am

My pardner was telling me about a guy in Tacarigua that reworks bad velocity joints so that they come back good.

Anyone can provide more information or experiences with this?

Usually in CV joints its the ball bearings that goes bad. In my Mitsu haynes manual, it shows you how to disassemble, service and assemble a CV joint. That is of course, considering the CV Joint is not in a irrepairable state before the rework.

I would much rather buy new CV joints cause one bad assembly by that guy and, well, i dont have to go further.

When it comes to CV , buy new. If not easily available there are few places that repair them with a WARRANTY.

went there already the guy was good, but you need to make sure that you know which one if bad, but my noise subsided and i got to find out it was my inner joint that was bad.

There is also a guy in south, in the back of Corinth village, he does very professional work and his price is great.
