ek3 problems

fellas i need a lil help. meh padna have a ek3 1999 roro civic that recently he is seeing the engine check light coming on and off every so often.he did a diagnostic check but all came up ok.also he said on mornings when he pulls off around 20kms he gets a flat spot after which the car works fine.he did a full service but the problem still exist.any advice

huh, that strange, when yuh check light giving yuh stress and yuh not gettnig no codes, usually i does see people doing a reset. Just simply disconnect yuh battery for sometime. About the flat spot at 20km/hr i ain't know about that one.

Just simply remove one terminal (usually the power lead) for about 60 seconds...that should do it

check to see if any sensors backed off ( like check to see that all jacks and screws are in place.) Happened to me once ...... paid 275 for a diagnostic to tell me that 2 screws that were holding one of the sensors fell off!

yeh
check d maf/map sensor make sure air isnt leaking around it
if thats ok then disconnect yuh ground wire not yuh live wire

does his check light stay on> and if so...does he go into vtec when his lights come on still..

im assuming this ek3 does come with the b16a right.

now that's relly strange having an check light and nothing when you do an scan. :|

claen the injectors see if that helps with the flat spot after 20 km/hr

tell im he might have a dirty sensor somewhere.
a friend had the same problem in his eg8 last week...

jasonsjohn16, no EK3 ever came with the B16A, only EK4's. EK3 = D series engine.
