I tried out one today in a customers hilux. Not that same one but an led one similar. Full aliminum body with fan. Output looked juat as bright as hid's but I didnt get to test in the night. Might bring down a couple but going to test it first.

I've got a question but I admit I'm too lazy to search the entire thread. Is it possible to do a retrofit WITHOUT projectors?

The term retrofit refers to the addition or installation of the projectors into a vehicle that didn't come with them. So if you are not using projectors you aren't retrofitting. Just installing HID's

Read the definition in any dictionary for the word "retrofit". The term covers both types of setups.... and much more

This is what I'm thinking. To retrofit doesn't only apply to projectors. But can anyone down here do a reflector retrofit?

I want to put HIDs in my sportero but I don't want the look of projectors, I'd rather keep a stock look. I know there are a few vehicles that come like that, fielders I know for sure

the only cars that i know that came with reflector based hids were some p11 primeras and the R34 gtr...
I can say that I've never seen a hid reflector based retrofit before... Most just use an hid bulb and ballast in their halogen reflector and blind oncoming traffic.
Is the halogen output so bad as to require the increased light output of hids

Its not the worst but I've grown accustomed to the white light of the 4300K in the projectors in the my Altis. I definitely don't want to go with just bulb and ballast in the regular housing so I may purchase some good bulbs online and use that.

I will also call Trini Retrofit and ask them about the reflector retrofit.

Hey, nah reflector retrofit is really unlikely. U won't be able to find a reflector that will fit in place of your reflector. While it is not impossible it is highly unlikely to be done. The projector retro will probably still give you better performance.

Some other cars that come with factory HID's and reflectors are
04 Subaru impress STI
Some Subaru Forrester
Some Nissan Navara's

I'm sure there is a bit more.
