whats so wrong with the gunk injector cleaner from pricesmart ?
any injector cleaner, the better ones are the consistency of a light oil like the one Lucus oil produces
did anyone ever notice that an engine flush has the same ingredients or somewhat same ingredients as an fuel injector cleaner

please note I'm not saying put an engine flush in your gas tank

you could build a kit yourself. just you need someone to weld aluminum and a air compressor. make a canister to fill the liquid and the fittings to connect to the fuel rail

gloves, carb choke, detach fuel rail...pull out each injector... use battery with wires to open the injector (check for +/-) and attach straw from can.....spray that mofo till it clean and the jets are sprayin full...then soak.

i do this for piece of mind...dont really trust those cleaners to fully clean out.

bars and those other crap are not made for fuel injected cars. you need stuff that is safe for your sensors especially the O2

thread hijack- How are the injectors modified? I uncertainly recall reading about removing the 'nozzle' to the front of it thereby making your 400+cc injectors into 600+ However the results of this varies in cc rating by <20% among the modified injectors.

i just use bar's throttle body/injector cleaner. 20 dollars, buy 2 if it's extremely dirty

dismantle intake pipe, spray directly into the throttle body/butterfly valve until the can is done

Another Hijack, how often should your injectors be cleaned or serviced?

The tapping methods quite effective ... but make sure and tap quickly as leaving it too long will damage your injector. You must also remove all the o-rings as the carb spray will damage those in the cleaning process.

Steps:

1- Remove injectors
2- Remove all the o-rings from the injectors
3- Locate an old injector jack from a scrap yard to make connecting the pins of the injectors to the battery easier. This will be used in the tapping process.
4. Place all the injectors in a carb spray solution and allow them to soak . The longer they are left, the easier the gunk will dissolve away.
5 Take an injector and attach the scrap yard jack to it.
6. Attach one wire to the -ve pole of the battery and use the other wire for tapping quickly. Get someone to help you do this or if you want to be creative, design a foot activated switching system :!:
7 Spray the carb spray through the injector while tapping the wire. You will notice a definite change in spray pattern and you will have a pretty good idea when it is cleaned properly.
8 Repeat from step 5 for the other remaining injectors.

I use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner in my car. Then again i run a honda accord but it's proven best, and test states it's the preferred choice for honda's
so if you aren't sure which to use, go with Chevron.

someone had told me injectors operate at around 5-6V and that connecting them directly to a 12V battery is likely to burn them.. is this true?

what do you guys use to connect the injector cleaner (like gum solve) to the injector inlet?
