Mileage is important in terms of what may be needed to be done and how much life may be left before majors repairs might be needed. Of course the icing on the cake is a well maintained vehicle, with low mileage.
But do not be fooled with extra low mileage, especially with those roll on roll off cars which mileage has been tampered with.

Agreed. When looking for a vehicle I ask for service records, receipts and stuff like that. Also, a simple way to know if a vehicle is well maintained even if the mileage is high is to check the engine bay. People who usually make sure they keep that area clean are usually the most meticulous in maintaining their cars...

To boost the economy of Japan in the manufacturing sector which accounts for approx 85% of GDP the taxes on cars over 3 yrs old is almost the cost of a new car therefore they get rid of them. Also if the car has low mileage they fetch a higher price from used car exporters.

One can just tell the difference between a RORO & a local used.

That may be so but as i said before if you go onto the following websites www.sayuri.co.jp and www.kobemotor.com you will see that the vehicles that are coming to Trinidad have high mileages 90,000 - 100,000. Yet when u visit any Ro-Ro dealer her all the cars are between 25,000 and 35,000, very fishy indeed.
You can pm me your email so I can send you the updates of cars that are coming to Trinidad the jap companies send me.
