Mul T Lock - Any good

a mth ago, we called oscar francois to setup an appointment to have the lock installed in my friends almera, they said around $1100 or sumn so for it.....we asked them, thas the immobiliser an everything too? they say yea....so we went wit it.....lo an behold when install finish, the car startin wit de ting in......wtf.......then dey tell us dey make a mistake or sumn, an de one wit de immobiliser is lik 1800 or sumn....

get de one wit de immobiliser......altho if u wanna play smart u cud jus take de cheaper one which will be like a visible deterrent since the bandits wou;ldnt know if its the one wit de immobiliser or not

Well I already have a Viper 791xv installed in my car....this kills the starter when the alarm is triggered. So I was just going for the Lock itself.

don't get the multilock with the immobilizer...gives trouble...if you have an alarm already use the imobiliser features on that. Also there are 2 ways to install the multi-lock....1 is a steel pin that you insert on the side of the gear console which locks the shifter....it's very discreet...doesn't show from the top. Don't get this 1 get the regular 1 that looks like a big chunk of metal tacked on to the side of the shifter which uses a u shaped locking pin. It's highly visible so that would be bandits can clearly see it .

No sense breaking into a car then discover it have multi-lock....might as well show it so that they know beforehand and just move on.

Also there is another type of Autolock from the UK i think....had one before multi-lock...it slips over the handbrakes and locks it to the gear shift. Because it blocks the handbrake button you can't release the handbrakes and also it prevents the shift lever from moving cause it's locked against the handbrake lever.

best anti-theft i had was with a 910 Bluebird...Open distributor and remove rotor....close distributor....keep rotor in pocket.

Ditto. I've seen this done on a B14 when the gear lever/linkage was busted.

so u can't shift the gears in the newer cars since u hav to depress the brakes to do that

You DO realise that some cars come with a little button near the gear lever to bypass that right? So all you have to do is keep that button down (say bandit accomplice nah), while the main bandit moves the gear selector in the engine.

beg to differ, have had it in a b14 for almost 10 yrs since day it was bought and never gave any hint of trouble, the immobiliser that is....works perfectly, maybe iz just ur own personal experience, but i've never heard anyone else say that it 'acts' up

also, knight, no i not familiar with those 'newer' cars, i've jus been drivin b14 and now my impreza, but in that case, if it can be bypassed like that, then don't use the autolock....look at another option...

The best place is Oscar Francis on Duke or prince street, close to the Hall of Justice. Ask for Richard customer service rep, he go organise

Excellent intallation, but you have make an appointment. I never regret going there after I spoke to other people who was doing the same installation for $980.00 etc.

They charging $1200.00 and they more secure than them around the road fellas, you getting also 3 extra keys and a card that ooks like a bank card for future duplication.

Go nowhere else breds, if you really car about security and privacy.

You do know that this interlock only affects the selector mechanism inside the car. if the selector cable is cut then this interlock would serve no purpose.
