always thought that was an expensive tire

That was a very decent price then, esp for that size.

P Zero Nero GT, or P Zero Nero All Season?

While there may be better brands, Roadstone/Nexen is much better than any Chinese brand. Dont expect high performance from the 672 and it will be fine. It is an average tyre in every aspect.

Quiet and comfortable nothing special but a lot better than some of the cheaper tyres on the market namely triangle/sailun

Thanks guys.
Will do some research again today if nothing else... i'll get these.
Just need great wet & dry handling with minimal noise & satisfactory threadware. Doest have to be real hard to last forever, but must be comfortable. I'm an aggressive driver at times-not reckless...so some level of performance would be appreciated.

Check out the Dunlop Direzza DZ-102 as well, if available in your size.

If u'r an aggressive driver, i would not recommend these as I found the wet grip on this tyre to be poor.
You would b better off with some Maxxis Z4s Victra or even Dunlop Direzza DZ101.

I will not buy again. I was not impressed in wet conditions (straight road/60kmh eh). Was more impressed with the Nexens I ran after.

I was just checking tyre prices as I needed to replace mines soon.

Called Tyre Clinic and was told they had an "Easter Sale" going on with some of their tyres. According to the manager the following were available in the sizes I needed (215/45/17):

Dunlop DZ102 - $675 not on sale (this is a new model replacing the DZ101, so no sale price)
Sumitomo Z2 - from $675 to $550 sale price
Sumitomo Z3 - from $775 to $650 sale price

I have the Z3 on now, and since I was very happy with their performance and durability, I purchased these as my replacements. They're actually a "max performance summer" tyre - not an all season one.

They lasted me 27 months or just under 50000km, and have been one of the better gripping tyres I've used, so I was more than willing to replace them with new ones, especially at a cheaper price than when I bought them back at the end of 2012.

Not sure what other brands/models in different sizes they had on sale, so it might be worth your while to call them for more info.

Everyone probably knows im using the dunlop dz102. According to the tirerack scores, the sumitomo htr z3 is marginally better in all aspects. However.. the dz102 has a significantly higher treadwear rating... and appears marginally cheaper too. Works for me. As always.. compare the aspects that are important to you and make an informed decision.

I'm running DZ102 in one of my Subaru's and Michelin Pilot Sport in the other...both have surprisingly good grip and wet and dry conditions. It was expected with the Michelin but Dunlop surprised me. Better yet, for the price you can't really complain. Tyre clinic had them for around $800 each, installed, balanced and with warranty (225/45/17)

I'll admit the thread pattern on the DZ102 looked decent.

If it works as well as you guys say, and with a treadwear of 460 (traction A, temp A), it sounds like a great tyre.

The Sumitomo Z3 ratings are 300, AA, A.

In my case, I just wanted to stick with what worked for me and what I was happy with.
