Anyone know where I might find some 215/45/18? Preferably performance oriented rather than all season, and reputable brands rather than the newer Nexen, Sailun, etc.?

Checked Milage Mack, Laughlin & De Gannes, Tyre Centre, Tyre Clinic, and none of them stock the size.

Or do I have to bring this in myself?

Ok, noted. I wasnt aware that there was a performance line...

Seems as though the Hi Fly HF201's have some grip problems, but the HF805's not as bad...at least from these reviews:

HF201's and HF805's

Interesting. They have an identical thread profile to the Conti SportContact 3. So im assuming thats what they're aiming for.

Rainy season/wet road condition reviews?

Wanted to change my dry weather tyres before rainy season but time ran short.

Same 205/50/15's i'm using/gonna be using on both vehicles.

Thread pattern doesnt affect grip In dry conditions. What it does affect is the water moving ability of the tire in wet conditions.
Note that dry weather racing tires usually have no grooves.

wet grip is good
standing water you get more of a pull on the steering than i would have liked but with a 205 width that is expected compared to the 195 i ran before

still very happy with these tyres

Bumping this thread for some more info
looking to get some 205-60-14 asap
just need to know which out of the following are worth it, i don't know much and called around, couldnt get the models tho, may have to go in and find out properly

dunlop (i guess its the sp 601) $525

kumho (didnt get the model from MM) $560 + vat

toyo (guess its the proxes from MM) $610 + vat

sumitomo (tyre clinic, didnt get the model) $580 + vat i think

any feedback would be appreciated. I hav the dunlops right now, and i know the noise issue when they wear down.

That's not enough information to give you an answer.

You'll need to say which model in those brands you were quoted for, as all of them make different models ranging from bad to very good.

You'll also need to say what you want or are looking for from the new tyre - low noise, long life, plenty grip etc.

Unfortunately from experience, you probably won't be able to get that information from the shops over the phone, as almost all of them either don't know or will give you the incorrect model. You'll need to actually go and look at them yourself to get the model of the brand they offer, sad to say...

Cud prob get maxxis z4s for around 500 also. Anyone you choose would be fine on a dd. That profile size and the tyres u posted it is clear u want longevity on a daily driver. The sumitomo htr lasts pretty long and adequately grippy

yup cinco, thats the exact purpose, longevity and also good wet road grip. The car will be running mostly highway from grande to pos on most days, and with the rainy season on hand i wanna be sure to get some good tyres. Will also look into the maxxis as i saw alot of ppl mention them

What do you guys recommend for a SUV 235x60x16?
Bridgestone Dueler 840 only gave me a 18 months/35,000km. Was looking at getting two years from these tyres.
My picks so far are:
Mileage Mack: Kumho/Toyo $1012/$1075
Tyre Clinic: Dunlop PT2 $980, Falken $840
Singhs Penal: Maxxis MA-V1 $675
Not sure about spending $1200 on Bridgestone again. I had Maxxis lasted two years before on my car.

At the price of the maxxis I would take it.
The Falken for that price doesn't sound to bad either

Triangle is a good tyre now???? What has this world come to?

Never heard of hi-fly.

Ive been running v12's in my car for about 2 years now and its very good. Low noise and excellent grip on wet roads.

I can drive 100km like normal when the rain is falling and the car doesn't feel slippery or skids.

Got roadstone when I bought my rims. Bought some kumho recently, no more skating on wet road at 20km/h and under.
Good grip, decent ride and not much noise.

orr, well if thats the case its probably better if you have ur daily driven tires and keep those r888 etc for the track, i think you will be wasting them if you plan to use them other than racing

no these tires i am looking for will be on a second set of wheels strictly for racing then come off. most road time they would get is if i drive home after an event on them. who sells the r1r you suggested?
