I always skybox in tyres and $7k is alot

TTBS only needs to see used tyres.

As for that comparison, check a survey done by Tyre rack, more credible for performance, that regular P Zero is not good.

Anybody want to do an order from tirerack and just have everything consolidated by pas cargo and so we can save on sea freight and general shipping?

hmmm
Will I be at any disadvantage with these? What are the taxes on NEw tyres? 30%? WHat would average Air freight be on these guys?

Already ordered them.
I based my decision on a few things.

Got the DWS vs the DW for a few reasons
1) better traction
2) better thread wear

All the reviews/comparisons I read narrowed down my decision to the Michelin pilot, Conti with Eco Plus, DWS, or Pirelli ( I Think it was the Pzero).

Went with the Conti's because I'm currently on Pirelli and want a change, and the Eco Plus conti was a harder ride vs the DWS.

Where did you check the comparison? The DW and DWS are different classes and usually aren't tested together.

Just looking at the user reviews on Tire Rack lists the DWS with lower wet/dry traction, more than likely due to the harder compound, 340 for the DW vs 540 for the DWS

I owned the Continental ExtremeContact DWS on my Volvo S80 when I lived in the states.... Still the best wet weather tyre I have EVER used... period. It really isnt very sporty though, clearly wasnt made for too much lateral loading and traction, but it will last long if you take care of it and will be good in the wet... Something most cheaper tyres fail to do..

The DW is a different tyre entirely and really shouldnt be compared

Anyone ever used both of these or can offer reviews on either?

Both within my budget 215/40-17

VAT inc @ Mileage Mack

Toyo T1 Sport - $1064
Kumho Ecsta SPT KU31 - $977

Both are certainly above average.. If I had to guess, the Toyo will likely be a bit more grippy but will not last you as long ... Not that either is really built for longevity to begin with..

You know your tyres.

Toyo 240 treadwear
Kumho 320 treadwear

Leaning towards the Kumho because of this.

Current Toyo Vimode is 340 and gives 2 years or approximately 60k km. I estimate the T1 Sport to give 18 months or less given my driving style.

I'm really liking the sailun tyres. They a better than the dunlops I had on before. I'm amazed at the wet road braking abilities of it. Good buy and they're cheap too

Agreed.
Had that on before, ride was very hard, wet road braking was not good, very expensive. Pros- they lasted 3+ years, looked cool.

Strugglerz, I been using the same Kumho KU31 for about 2-3 years now but not very much distance driven on that car.. Maybe 15,000km tops. They are a little less than halfway worn.

I found with the kumho that the key is to keep them properly inflated because the side treads tend to wear MUCH faster than the centre. It is a very good tyre in the wet though, will give them that.. That sort of thing matters to me, especially without ABS.

I never used that Toyo and i'm finding it hard to find a large number of reviews online for it.

I guess price for price, I'd give the Kumho a go.

Wet performance is very important to me as well as wifey drives the car so that's good to hear.

Wifey gave instructions that it work as well as or better than the current Toyos. :|

Take a read and decide.. The Kumho KU31 (aka SPT) are not an excellent tyre but they are certainly above average..

Hey guys, I'm looking for some 205-65-15 for my moms car, gonna be the first tire change since it came from the firm. Any recommendations?
It came with some bridgestone tires, but now that they are worn they are noisy, and wet road traction is poor. I had dz101's on my car, and they were terrible.

I got the Firestone Firehawk 900 at M. Ramrattan for 600 ea. Sized 205-60-15. That price includes install, balanced, new valves. Treadwear is 300. Seems to be very good in the wet imo.

does anyone know the name/contact of the place that fills your tyres with a liquid that seals punctures/leaks? Are they any good? I may be interested in getting my tyres done.

wut?
fix a flat?
dont use that unless you HAVE to basically once you fill a tyre with that you need to trow away the tyre after.
that gunks up inside the wheel and fuks up the balance of the wheel. if you have tire pressure sensors then it can destroy those also
