Dunlop Direzza DZ102

Postby Mini » September 28th, 2015, 10:31 am

Already established that DZ101 was crap (I have two of them on the car now... didn't last.. lot's of road noise when worn)

Just talking to a few people the DZ102 seems to have significant improvements. Anyone ever used them?

Getting them for $550 mounted/ balanced (205/50 15)

http://www.1010tires.com/Tires/Reviews/Dunlop/Direzza+DZ102

Comparatively I am getting the Maxxis Victra MA-Z4S for $550, but would have to pay for mounting/ balancing

I bought the dz102 because of the same reasons you mentioned about the 101

I could not believed they are worse.

1. The compound is too hard for any type of use.

Run the other way and do not buy the 102

Thanks for the feedback... I did some digging for online reviews. Tire Rack rates them as 3rd best for UHP Summer Tires...

DZ102 is fine. Good in the dry and no aquaplaning in the wet at highway speeds.

The reviews online are good but the ones selling locally are not genuine from my observations I have recently purchased a set have about 1000km so far on them works well but reading the info on the tyre no info concerning thread wear temperature and traction or place of manufacture

so if ur changing from 101 to 102 i be aware of that sidewall! im gonna sell these 55 and get 50

btw anyone knows where have 101 still?

205/55/15 101 vs 102... cause of the design of the 102 its like a regular 55 series, unlike the 101 where its like a 50 series

I purchased the 102 and noticed that there is no info about threadwear as well. Does this mean its a knock off? I was wondering if its a prototype still in testing or sumn....How did TTBS approve this?

It is very shaky in wet weather a whole lot of wheel spin.

Same with me @ 140 - 150 kph in the rain. I don't have any experience with the DZ101 though. So far the DZ102 has been a very good tyre. As good as Sumitomo HTR Z3 and Bridgetstone Potenza RE050 but cheaper than both and better rated treadwear.

^^those.
Had those on my Forrester. Held d road quite well, wet and dry.
I personally find d Potenzas a bit better tho.
