Rub headlight with brakefluid

nope, he's right....the white toothpaste like ol' skool Colgate or Pepsodent, not that coloured gel toothpaste they selling nowadays

the plain white one is very mildly abrasive, like Autosol (which u can use as well, but the toothpaste is cheaper)
if it's REAL bad, I'd wet sand it with some 2500 grit emery

however it doesn't bring back the factory gloss (lens actually looks a bit frosted when you're done), so when you're done removing discolouration, top it off with some Mother's Plastic Polish

I'd advise against the brake fluid...waaaay too much potential for disaster there...imagine if cleaning your headlights cost u a paint job on your bumper...that would suck balls

Mothers Plastic polish seems to do the trick for me.

But if that does not work, try buffing it.

to avoid contact with bumper...tape some guardian paper on the area of the bumper u working on.

very unlikely u will come into contact with bumper because u not going to dash it on the light....u using a controlled amount on a rag or on some emery paper.

Dab some BRAKE FLUID on to a rag.
Rub into lamp in a circular motion until you see it all nice and clear.
Once the lamp has been rubbed down entirely and cleaned off of all brake fluid, then grab some good ol car wax and rub IT into the lamp until its all shiny.

This is as old school as they come and works every time !!!!!!

NOTE: DO NOT LET A DROP OF THE BRAKE FLUID FALL ONTO THE PAINT OF THE CAR BECAUSE IT WILL RUIN THE PAINT.

Brake fluid FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

best way - wet sand in 1 direction with 1500 grit then the other direction with 2500 grit till a consistant haze then use plast-x. good to go

best advise thus far
however

if its a plastic lens
(ALL WET SAND)
start with a 800 grit
then 1000 grit
then 1500 grit
then 2000 grit
then buff the hell out of it.

basically all that would do is jus take off a layer of plastic and then smooth it out.
Works great and takes like 15 mins if you have power tools.

Becareful when using power tools that you dont have it on too high of a speed otherwise you could melt stuff

yeah what jnqaz said.

came across this a few days ago actually

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GsHHBk-hZzk&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed>

but after putting in some good hours from 5 am to late in the evening cleaning my rims for painting, in addition to cases of elbow grease, i'd rather go by the powerseller on the forum and get both sides done for $120. i dont have power tools so dat kinda manual wok iz not for me.
