RESTORE REVIEWS

Postby *KRONIK* » August 11th, 2008, 4:13 pm

Some of you may be familiar with this product

its spposed to do wat it says on the can

i have been hearing a lot of bad and good reviews about this

my mechanic says its good for ur car

ppl in the parts places highly recommend it

on the other end some ppl say its a waste of time...especially men who into "high end" products.

many of the Mitsubishi owners are using this to quiet the lifters/tappits in their engines

a brethren of mine say it caused his crankshaft bearing and seal to burst/damage and destroyed his engine....

waz the verdict on this?

is it good?

Bad?

worth the time and money or waste of time and money?

and exactly wat are its "destructive properties"???

(please keep thread clean)

ok i know a mechanic who has a 89 maxima with over 350000 miles on it and he swears by this stuff he said after running this for a year and tearing down the engine the inside was clean. (he checked the valve cover prior and after using to see the difference)
I used this in my sr20 and it did help clean out the valvetrain a bit also kept the noise down.

I always put in a can with all of my oil changes, I had a LEGNUM with a 1.8 GDI and from the first time I used it , my lifters got quiet and I felt a real difference (more power). After using it for a while, if you try an oil change without it you will really miss it.

If the engine is burning oil, it means the piston rings are leaking...anything that will stop that leaking has to be a paste thats more or less filler to plug the leak.
Its understandable that the tappets get quiet if there's gunk now plugging up all the free space between components.

Increased compression due to plugging up the leaks means you burn less oil and increase mpg because you're making the engine more efficient. As far as I see, you can use it to milk an old dying engine for some extra life but ofcourse its not recommended to throw it in your car if its already working fine.

Old cars are very sensitive to change. Usually the low power operation is as much as the dying components can handle. You fix one thing and more power puts more pressure on the engine parts and then everything starts to die..

The verdict? If your car is sluggish and inefficient, its gonna die eventually anyways. Try whatever bandaid solutions you can to get performance but eventually you will have to fix the engine

http://www.restoreusa.com/

The active incredients Silver, Copper and Lead.
Remember this is not a oil treatment for increased lubrication it is a engine block treatment.

I know it works great.
I know cause i used it in my Legnum (4G93), CK Lancer, Laser(4EFTE), E24, 626, Rio, EG Civic.

But like Sham1984 said it really is for older cars.
Cars which gained the most from it. We tested compression before and after.
Laser (i just dumped it in before i install d engine just caused i was hooked on the sheit)
626 FE3 2.0.... Hydralic lifters silent and increased compression
Civic. Oil was leaking everywhere on the top side. Hardly leaked after increased compression again

E24 less smoke an oil burning yeah compression went up here too

Commpression in GDI was high already but i still added it for the lifters sake i was fed up of d ticktickticktick in traffic. Fella who sold it to me said it for old engines eh! I told him i dumping it in a Shark mouth an he buss out laughing. I think i was d first guy to use it in GDI

GDI is a new engine so I dont think we should add engine restore with every oil change. I introduced a guy to it an he abused it like a drug after a while a lifter actually remained stuck open and burned. I dont know how or why maybe it was just freak accident an d valve got stuffed with a rouge piece of lead.

Well I know he said he never used a engine oil flush treatment at oil changes
anyway never added a can unless u hear a slight panside in d mornings.

Let's put it this way, right now I have a Galant VR with a 2.5 V6 & even with a auto tranny I can still smoke the tyres at will. I tried my share of additives with no noticable difference in power until I used ENGINE RESTORE. Now let's get this correct, I pay between $65.00 & $75.00 for a tin of the 6 cylinder formula ( I think this is the most bang for the buck that I have seen so far), but don't get me wrong, I would not say that this is the best thing that I have used, For me the best is Z-MAX, but at $300.00 for the kit it is not cheap. I get it at GLEN'S SUPER SHOP in Chaguanas 665-1230. You get 4 bottles of treatment, 1 for the ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, GAS TANK & a bonus for small engines like compressors etc, it is worth every cent, It really cleans inside your engine & tranny, makes more power, makes your tranny shift alot better & also cleans your injectors for more power & more mpg. You really can not go wrong with this purchase.
