exaust size help

ok fellaz i we want to do over our exhaust in our cortina it has a nissan l28engine 2.8L 6cyl we have a big carburetor engine was port and polished, 5fwd gearbox rb20clutch and p-plate, the car does real pull with the new carb
but we using the stock cortina exaust so i want to know what is a goos size of exause to use?
i see man using 2.5 and thing with sr20 so how much can we use with this 2.8L engine
and should we put on a cat and silencer ?

help needed asap

3" throughout or with a slightly larger outlet.

The 3" sounds good!
If u could get aftermarket headers why not?

stock engine no greater than 2.25"

^^I'd have to lean more towards this recommendation...3" seems kinda big in this case

Migs what size outlet on the extractor/down pipe?

a port and polish does not warrant anything bigger
general rule, less than 200hp, 2" is actually best but seeing a 6cyl
this engine comes from factory with approx 140hp, a p+p, bigger carb, nothing said about extractor, 2.25" is more than sufficent as this engine not putting down 200whp yet
i have owned L28's and ran them but u don't have to take my word for it

yea de 2.25" is more sensible cause its still stock..

2.5 crush bend, which will effectively give yuh 2.25 and be a good bang for yuh dollar.
